Lettershop Handwork Associate – 1st Shift

Summary/Objective: The handwork employee is responsible for folding and inserting mailing materials into envelopes, sealing envelopes, affixing postage, and sorting mail according to USPS requirements.

 Essential Functions:

  • Handling Mail Pieces
    • Read and understand the work ticket to ensure that the correct components are being used and the job is being inserted correctly.
    • Be able to perform folding, inserting, sealing, sorting, metering, stamping, and paperwork.
    • Operates meter as necessary.
    • Understand USPS regulations in order to be able to work independently.
  • Quality
    • Effectively use the quality control procedures while handling mail pieces, along with monitoring quality of the final mail pieces.
    • Recognizes issues related to production
    • Prevent any pieces from being double-stuffed.
    • Properly record damaged documents or mail pieces and request reprints as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to dust/airborne particles. The noise level for this work environment is usually moderate.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm

Physical Demands: Must be able to reach with arms and hands, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time.

Position Type: Closed-toe shoes are required for this position. Additional PPE may be required while performing certain job functions.

Travel: None

Required Education and Experience: Position requires a High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • Knowledge of USPS regulations preferred

Security Clearance:  Amsive is a Federal Contractor, and this position may require government security clearance for certain projects.
