POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Print Finishing Specialist will participate in all activities related to large format handwork, kit packing and general labor within the large format facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure all Plant Environmental Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • Perform daily area maintenance as required.
  • Perform processes / tasks in the most efficient method available.
  • Complete departmental daily tasks including but not limited to housekeeping, communication, handwork, and kit packing.
  • Follow documented processes established for Finishing.
  • Some computer usage required for data collection.
  • Cutting of rolled and sheet products per lines on the prints.
  • Applying adhesives to products.
  • Assembling products – displays.
  • Packaging products – kit packing.
  • Assist in special duties and projects as required by Management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy, count, and sizes.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to understand and communicate job-related information clearly and concisely.
  • Able to multi-task while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong process skills, dexterity and an ability to multi-task.
  • Work overtime when necessary.

The Large Format Finishing Specialist reports directly to the Finishing Manager – Large Format.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. 

  • Body Positions: Frequently required to spend extensive periods sitting with computer work and intermittent walking / standing.
  • Body Movements: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands & fingers to handle or feel objects, bending, reaching with hands and arms, and crouching.
  • Body Senses: Must have command of the following senses: sight, hearing, speech and touch.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distant vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must be able to distinguish minor color variations.
  • Strength: Occasionally must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will spend most of the time working in a production area that is relatively loud with limited time in a professional office environment. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.  Travel is infrequent and primarily local during the business day.
